Los Angeles – Noah from the Bible has nothing on Mike Robinson, a Los Angeles man who has been discovered to have been taking care of more than a dozen cats, 15 dogs, 12 birds of various species, a hedgehog and three tropical fish – all in a one-room flat.
“I like animals,” Robinson said. “I don’t see what the big deal is.”
But his neighbors certainly did. It was they who called police – saying that something worrisome was happening in this otherwise quiet development.
“It smells like a zoo and sounds like a barn,” said one, who asked to remain anonymous.
“At first, I thought it was just him,” said another. “That he had a problem with hygiene. But then I peeked in the door one morning as he was leaving for work, and I saw that he had a menagerie.”
Robinson insists that he didn’t realize there was a limit on the number of pets one owner could care for, and that he couldn’t possibly choose between his beloved animals.
But officials say he must – as for the rest of his furry and feathered friends, they’ll have to find other nests to roost in.
